Quick Tips for Searching Properties Search engines can be a little quirky, so here are a few pointers for making your search a little easier:

Less is More Don’t feel as though you have to make a specific selection in every menu box. Sometimes it’s best to select “ALL” in order to broaden your search.

For instance – say you’re looking for a house on a specific street or road. Rather than select the county, the town and the zip code, just select “ALL” for those items and then type in the street name (i.e. – Harvard). The report will bring up all the houses on Harvard Street. This way you don’t EXCLUDE a property you might be trying to find.

Think Big Or in this case, think “broad”. Say you’re looking for a 3 bedroom house in a particular town. Rather than restrict yourself to 3 bedrooms, broaden your search to 2 to 4 bedrooms (or even 5 bedrooms!). That way more choices will pop up on the report.

Also, if your price range is around $90,000, search for properties from $80,000 to $100,000.

You then give yourself a little leeway for price negotiation.
